Urban Forage – learn about the plants that share the city with us!
October 2, 2016, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm|
Look at your urban environment differently as you walk through downtown Reedsburg amidst the spontaneous and cultivated vegetation in the landscape. Learn to identify edible and medicinal plants and discover their botanical histories, uses and lore! Begin the forage with an herbal beverage and end it with a sample of edible herbal plants.
This event will take place whatever the weather – so dress appropriately!
Nancy Klehm cares for bees, bobwhite quail and an orchard, raises perennial vegetables and medicinal plants, stewards a prairie and woodland, runs a community composting cooperative, and makes her own wine, brandy, cheese, miso and herbal medicine. An ecologist hailing from The Great Lakes, Nance’s work has been covered internationally in both print and media outlets as well as in over 15 books. She has lead foraging walks in both rural areas and large cities on four continents, but never in Wisconsin!
