In A Pickle Or A Jam: Tips For Home Canning And Food Preservation

Celebrate the season’s harvest year-round by learning the tradition of home food preservation. During this interactive class learn the background and basics of canning pickles of many kinds, relishes, jams and salsas, plus other ways to preserve fruits and vegetables. Take home a sample made in class, plus stories, tips and recipes to share. Erin Schneider is an educator, organic farmer and co-owner of Hilltop Community Farm, a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm and market garden in La Valle, Wis., specializing in unusual fruits. She’s been preserving her garden’s bounty for 26 years.
