Let’s celebrate Fermentation Fest together – Friday night’s Pig Roast and Sunday afternoon’s Apple Pie Contest.

 

(Who Doesn’t Love) a Pig Roast?!

pigs-slide2.png Friday, October 7, from 4 – 7 pm. A Pig Roast at Farm/Art DTour Food Chain 1, St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Loreto. Wisconsin River Meats will season and smoke a pig for 12 hours before grilling and carving on site. We’ll serve it with two side dishes provided by other Food Chain vendors and beverages available to purchase. Tickets are $15 – pay at door or in advance online.  As a special offer to support the Michael Perry concert to benefit Kids Ranch, we will provide a $3 discount for those purchasing a ticket to the Pig Roast and the concert. This offer is only available for purchases made at the Reedsburg Chamber of Commerce, 240 Railroad Street.

 

Apple Pie Contest

Apple PieSunday, October 9, 2:30 – 5pm (or until pie lasts!) at Ferme Lab, 300 Vine Street, Reedsburg. Open to anyone who wishes to bake an apple pie (individual or teams).  One entry per person/team, and simply bring your pie to the Ferme Lab after 9 AM on Sunday. Judging will begin at 3:30 PM – come watch your entry and bring your rooters! Then stay to taste the pies as we’ll sell them by the slice for a suggested donation of $2. Judges will be Peter Reinhart, one of the world’s leading authorities on bread; Jennifer Mans, owner of Humble Sweet and Savory Pies in Madison; and Craig Braunschweig, Director of Rock Springs Public Library (who likes pie).
