Volunteers help install Rita Grendze’s Entrenched, 2013

Calling all fermentation, farming, and art enthusiasts! As Fermentation Fest approaches, we are looking for volunteers to help us with the exciting events we have scheduled.  We need help introducing speakers, installing art, introducing pasture performers, and much more. Read below, see if you’re interested, and contact us at volunteer@fermentationfest.com or fill out the form below indicating your area of interest.

Pasture Performance Host:

  • Oct 3-4 + Oct 10-11
Help with the Pasture Performances happening each weekend day along DTour. Should be comfortable speaking in front of people, 3.5 hr commitment. Visit the Pasture Performance page for times and descriptions of performances.

Crossing Guard:

  • Oct 3-4 + Oct 10-11
Help hungry DTourists safely cross the road at one of our Food Chain sites. This is a chance to get creative – who says a crossing guard can’t juggle their way across the street, or lead pedestrians along in an elephant costume?

Art Install:

Help dig the foundation and construct the frame of this beautiful structure!

  • Sept 29-30, Oct 13-19: Land ChimesHighland Rd, Loreto

Install chimes in the hillside as part of an interactive musical landscape.

Help build shelves and chop vegetables to assemble a musical instrument unlike any you’ve seen before. Some basic construction skills preferred, but not required.

  • Sept 30, Oct 2-11: RebootNorth Freedom

Help assemble a pair of giant boots, then “walk” them across the field!

Class Host:

  • Oct 3-4 + Oct 10-11
Host Classes and Events during the Fest, and attend the class for FREE! Help with set-up, check-in attendees, introduce the speaker, and help clean-up. Average 3.5 hour commitment. Click here for times and descriptions of Classes and Events.

      • Oct 13-18  Help take it all down!
