Hand-Built Beer Steins and Coffee Mugs

October 7, 2017, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Get your hands in clay –  use simple handbuilding methods to make a ceramic vessel for your favorite fermented beverage, and add a personal touch with texture and appliqué. After the workshop, Win and Sandra will glaze and fire your cup for you and they will be available for pickup in Reedsburg or Madison from November 1 through to November 30, 2017.

This workshop is taking place at The Byers Studio which is in Rock Springs (approx. 7 miles from Reedsburg). The class is family friendly for kids aged 7 upwards (if accompanied by an adult).

Quotes from 2016 attendees:

This was the best class I took. It was wonderful to go to their studio and they are great teachers. Really enjoyed it and hope there will be more “making” classes in the future.

Excellent interactive and hands-on class.  Also, fun to visit the studio.

Win and Sandra Byers are known locally as participants in the Fall Art Tour but are known nationally as well. They have shown their stoneware and porcelain in exhibitions from Washington, DC and Philadelphia to Madison and San Francisco. Their work has been included in numerous books including The Best of Pottery and several of Lark Books 500 series. Their work is included in many museum collections including the Racine Art Museum, the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, and the Everson Museum in Syracuse, NY.
