The Home Creamery: Cultured Milk and Cheese Making

October 13, 2017, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm



Join veteran home cheese maker Linda Conroy for this fun and inspiring day of cheese making. By the end of this full day class you will fully understand milk and the many products that can come from it

Participants will be introduced to several varieties of cheese that can easily be made at home as well as a basic introduction to different milk options. We will make cultured butter, yogurt and kefir cheese, paneer, fresh mozzarella and cheese curds. Products that we make and other samples will be incorporated into a delicious lunch and everyone will take home cheese that we make in class. Everyone will take home cheese and a culture to get them started.

This is a new class for Fermentation Fest 2017.





Linda Conroy is a vibrant, passionate woman who continually seeks to deepen her connection to the earth. She is an herbalist, wild food aficionado,home cheese maker and community organizer. She is the creator of the ever popular Wild Eats Community Meals, Moonwise Herbs and The Midwest Women’s Herbal Conference. Participants in programs organized and/or facilitated by Linda walk away with an appreciation for the natural world as well skills for incorporating plants and whole food into their daily life.

Class Location: First Presbyterian Church, 148 N Park Street, Reedsburg, WI 53959.
Each attendee will take home cheese and a culture to get them started.
This is a hands-on class and can get messy, so please bring an apron.
Please bring a 16oz canning jar and similar size take out container or pyrex dish to take home your ferments.
Check-in begins 10 minutes before the start of the class.
